Summer Solstice - A time of renewal and time of change. It really didn't seem that way after last night's debacle of a Presidential Debate. Golf handicaps, really? Sex with Porn Stars? An abortion after a baby is born, WTF? If that debate wasn't an indication that change is necessary, and women need to be in charge, I don't know what is.
I think about growth and change a lot because representing women only, I am constantly confronted with data and real life circumstances that seem insurmountable. But then I look at my twins - Jack & Nico - who just graduated 5th grade and I realize it doesn't matter what those data and circumstances say, change NEEDS to happen for them, for our daughters and for our sons. And with each month since starting The Justice Dept, I see that change with my own eyes with communities we are building with each other like The Wie Suite started by Dee Poku, The Riveter by Amy Nelson, The Luminary by Cate Luzio, The Marble Collective by Kristin Thomas, Hype Women by Erin Gallagher, Hey Mama by Amri Kibbler and Katya Libin and Female Founder's Collective by Rebecca Minkoff & Ali Wyatt to name just a few.
